Calvin Harris ist für mich definitiv der beste DJ momentan - das stand spätestens seit dem Megahit "We Found Love" mit Rihanna fest! Da kann der Guetta mit "NTBT 2.0" klar nicht mithalten. Mit den starken Vorabsingles "Bounce", "Feel So Close", "Let's Go", "We'll Be Coming Back" und "Sweet Nothing", sowie wie schon das vorher erwähnte "We Found Love" waren die Erwartungen natürlich sehr hoch und diese wurden klar erfüllt. Es gibt neben den oben erwähnten Singles Dance-Pop mit starker weiblicher Unterstützung ("I Need Your Love"), Dancebeats mit Rapparts (z.B "Drinking From The Bottle") sowie kürzere, meist 2 Minuten lange Non-Vocal Songs. Ich hätte mir zwar den tollen "Spectrum" Remix noch auf dem Album gewünscht, aber man kann ja nicht alles haben.
Highlights: Neben dem Oberhighlight und einer besten Songs der letzten Jahre "We Found Love", sind die Singles "Sweet Nothing", "Let's Go" und "Feel So Close", sowie die hoffentlich als Single erscheinenden"I Need Your Love" und "Drinking From A Bottle".

Das ist moderne Dance-Musik vom Allerfeinsten. Calvin Harris ist ein Meister seines Faches, nahezu jeder Song des Albums besticht durch eine tadellose, fette Produktion. Einige Tracks wirken für sich alleine ohne Vocals ("Awooga", "Green Valley", ...), andere leben gerade durch den Gesang erst so richtig auf ("We Found Love", "I Need Your Love", "Sweet Nothing", ...). Auch die ausgefalleren Stücke wie "Mansion", "Here 2 China" und "Awooga" können mich überzeugen.
Womöglich läuft Calvin Harris David Guetta bald den Rang ab. Die Nummer 1 in den UK-Charts ist ihm mit "18 Months" auf jeden Fall sicher.
Fazit: Als Electro/Synthie/Dance/House-Fan sollte man hier unbedingt reinhören! |

Ein super Album, die Produktion ist top und kein einziger Song, außer "Bounce", ist nicht gelungen. Insgesamt kann ich aber aufgrund einiger Lückenfüller (die Songs, die unter 2 Minuten dauern) keine 6* geben.

Bounce - gute Singleauskopplung, guter gesang, passt alles zusammen :)
Feel So Close - gefiel mir sofort als es released wurde! :D netter sound :)
We Found Love - jeder kennt doch diesen Klassiker! netter sound wie bei Feel So Close :)
We'll Be Coming Back - wurde langsam auch mal zeit das Calvin Harris und Example mal ein lied zusammen machen, und dann auch auf einmal so ein gutes :D
Mansion - guter alter Calvin Harris-Sound :')
Iron - gute zusammen Arbeit zwischen Nicky Romero und Calvin Harris, kommt wahrscheinlich auch gut in den Clubs an :)
I Need Your Love - könnte neben Drinking From the Bottle und Thinking About You die nächste Single werden! :D

Awooga - der sound kommt gut an in Bounce, Feel So Close, We Found Love, Let's Go, und We'll Be Coming Back :)
Thinking About You - könnte neben I Need Your Love und Drinking From the Bottle die nächste Single werden! :D gutes Ende zum Album, passt einfach :)

Well what can I say, Calvin Harris is in hot property right now, unfortunately his album suffers because of it. Aside from all his big hits, the rest of his album is poorly produced and feels like a waste of time really.
It's a shame because his last album was pretty good back when he was a nobody. |

1. Green Valley: 3.5*. It's good but it's nothing special.
2. Bounce: 5.5*. Has to be the best dance song of 2011. Also has a good video IMO.
3. Feel So Close: 4.5*. It's a really great song but Calvin's vocals are very generic. Like a male version of Who's That Chick.
4. We Found Love: Used to love this but Rihanna's vocals are poor and there isn't enough lyrical content.
5. We'll Be Coming Back: 3.5*. A lesser version of Feel So Close and Example's voice is a bore.
6. Mansion: 3.5*. Sounds like a track missing from Nothing But The Beat.
7. Iron: 4.5*. Of the instrumentals on the album, it's easily the best.
8. I Need Your Love: 6*. Simply amazing. Ellie & Calvin should do more songs together. Best on the album.
9. Drinking From The Bottle: 5.5*: Yes it's generic but I love it.
10. Sweet Nothing: 3.5*. It was great but unlike the rest of Florence's discography the vocals aren't a stand out.
11. School: 4*: It's pretty good but not great.
12. Here 2 China: 2.5*: Is easily the poorest song on the album
13. Let's Go: 3*. Very boring.
14. Awooga: 3.5* Kind of same-y.
15. Thinking About You: 4*. I expected great vocals because DJ's never use an unknown artist with bad vocals. They are bad vocals but with tonnes of autotune it's not bad.
Overall it feels like a best dance tracks of 2011-12 compilation as there's no theme to the album. 18 Months says it kind of is anyway

Green Valley 3.5 stars - cool intro, can get a bit annoying though
Bounce 6 stars - excellent song, 2nd best song of 2011 and one of the best on this album
Feel So Close 6 stars - good follow up to Bounce, not as good as Bounce but still excellent
We Found Love 6 stars - really catchy Rihanna song, the best of all of Rihanna's songs
We'll Be Coming Back 5.5 stars - really good song
Mansion 4.5 stars - another cool instrumental better than Green Valley and is a grower
Iron 5 stars - really good song
I Need Your Love 5.5 stars - A grower for me
Drinking From The Bottle 2 stars - really average, I recommend you skip it
Sweet Nothing 6 stars - superb song with superb vocals from Florence, the best out of all of his singles
School 6 stars - although it is very short it is very cool and is much like old school Calvin
Here 2 China 3 stars - not warming up to this one but it might be a grower
Let's Go 4 stars - ok but far from a standout
Awooga 4 stars - ok, not a standout though
Thinking About You 6 stars - a highlight of this album, awesome vocals from Ayah Marar. Hope this one is released as a single, it is one of the best on the album
